Reamer purposes

A reamer has one or more teeth for cutting a rotating tool with a thin metal layer on the processed surface of the hole.

The hole after the reamer is processed can obtain the exact size and shape.

Reamer used to ream workpieces have been drilling hole (or reaming) after processing, mainly in order to improve the machining precision of hole, reduce its surface roughness, orifice is used for finishing and semi-finishing cutting tools, machining allowance is generally small.

The reamer used for machining cylindrical holes is more commonly used. The reamer used for machining tapered hole is a taper reamer, which is less used. According to the usage, there are hand reamer and machine reamer. The machine reamer can be divided into straight reamer and taper reamer. The hand is straight shank.
